Hybrid Principal Civil Engineer (Transportation)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Civil Engineer to lead our transportation engineering projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in roadway design and multimodal transportation systems, playing a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient transportation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage transportation engineering projects from concept through construction.
- Conduct roadway design, including geometric design, drainage, and signal design.
- Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microstation for design purposes.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including MUTCD guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects involving bikeways, pedestrian pathways, and stormwater management.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and interns.
- Review and approve design documents, reports, and construction plans.
- Engage with stakeholders, including public agencies and community groups, to gather input and provide project updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation engineering and roadway design.
- Proficient in CAD software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microstation.
- Experience with design software such as Geopak and Inroads.
- Strong knowledge of stormwater management practices, HydroCAD, and hydroflow principles.
- Familiarity with multimodal transportation planning and design, including bike and pedestrian facilities.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
